Diversity and inclusion at kinapse
We believe that Diversity & Inclusion are central to a dynamic, exciting and innovative organization. Through promoting these principles, we aim to be an organisation where individuals are free to be themselves and perform at their best.
Diversity to us is our collective mixture of differences and similarities, including those that are outwardly visible and those that are less immediately apparent. This includes race, gender, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, neurodiversity (including learning differences), and variation in thoughts, behaviours and beliefs.
Inclusion is the achievement of a work environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, and can contribute fully to the organization’s success.
We are proud of where we currently are:
Our team includes individuals from 15 different nationalities, who speak more than 13 different languages.
33% of our senior team are women, as are 52% of our wider organisation.
94% of all employees answering the 2017 annual employee survey said that they ‘feel included’ at Kinapse…
…and 93% stated that they consider our workforce to ‘appropriately reflect diversity.’
To support and develop these important aspects of our organisation, we commit to:
Recruiting and retaining diverse, authentic talent, empowering them and enabling them to develop, progress and thrive.
Building on our strong existing culture of inclusivity, to ensure an engaged and high performing workforce.
Developing the image of Kinapse as a diverse & inclusive company, both internally and externally.
Setting ourselves realistic, yet stretching D&I targets.
Our diversity and inclusion initiatives
We are actively engaged in initiatives to raise the awareness of and promote Diversity & Inclusion throughout our organisation including:
Regularly reviewing our recruitment strategy and selection processes.
Holding events with guest speakers and campaigns to raise awareness and understanding.
Supporting the Social Mobility Foundation by providing mentors and offering student internships to individuals from low-income backgrounds.
Our pro-active commitment to the U.K. Armed Forces Covenant.
In addition, we have founded a Diversity & Inclusion Global Team, consisting of ‘D&I Champions’ and volunteers from across the regions we operate in. The team meets regularly to plan and execute D&I-promoting activities and feedback on progress globally. This global team is led by the Head of Talent, supported by HR, and guided by the Board, who review our strategy and progress on a quarterly and annual basis.
However, while this team is the focal point of activities, at Kinapse we are all expected to be champions of diversity and inclusion.
