The challenge

The Medical Affairs, Epidemiology and HEOR functions of a leading vaccines manufacturer were producing data evidence packages that were neither consistently delivered on-time nor aligned to customers’ needs.

This resulted in slower market access and the erosion of product potential.

Our approach

We took a three-step approach to the problem:

1.     Re-Structure:

We defined interfaces among internal and external stakeholders. We then adjusted Global, Regional and Local structures. This included headcount realignment and new job descriptions.

2.     Create Value

We chartered a Market Access Team to help design a strategic evidence generation planning process.

3.     Measure Benefits

We collaborated with stakeholders to develop KPIs. These benefit measures indicated the success of the program.

The result

As a result of our support, the client has:

  • Improved multi-disciplinary engagement in evidence generation.
  • Created new Medical Project Management organization and Market Access Teams.
  • Achieved faster reimbursement and improved tender success rates thanks to our KPIs.
