Kinapse signs the Armed Forces Covenant

On 20th March 2018, Kinapse was proud to sign the Armed Forces Covenant.  We were honoured to welcome Major General Chris Tickell CBE to our Wimbledon offices to celebrate with us and to countersign our Covenant on behalf of The Ministry of Defence.

Chris was also generous enough with his time to give us a talk on teamwork and leadership.  Looking around the room, the audience was totally captivated and thoroughly enjoyed the humour and real life anecdotes that he used to bring his points to life.  The team was still buzzing later that afternoon and I am sure we have all taken something practical we can use in our day to day work from his presentation.

Regarding the Covenant, we believe that making a public declaration of our willingness to support Military families, Veterans and Volunteer Reservists is an important commitment for Kinapse to make.

We have committed in our business dealings that no member of the Armed Forces Community will face disadvantage in relation to any other citizen and in some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate.  We will publicise these commitments through our communication channels, setting out how we will honour them and inviting feedback from the Service community and our customers on how we are delivering.  Our specific commitments are outlined below.

Kinapse recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by:

  • Promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation by publicising our Armed Forces Covenant on our website and displaying the Armed Forces Covenant logo.

  • Supporting the employment of veterans, young and old, by advertising our appropriate vacancies with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and other organisations which actively support Service Leavers.

  • Offering work place internships, where possible, to give veterans an opportunity to experience a commercial working environment.

  • Recognising military skills in our recruitment and selection processes.

  • Striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners.

  • Supporting our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces.

  • Honouring Armed Forces Day, including encouraging Reservists to participate in Uniform to Work Day.

  • Delivering a co-ordinated Poppy Appeal in November to raise funds for the British Legion.
