What do you wish you’d invented?

Flexible photo-voltaic film with hyper-conductivity to revolutionise the construction and energy industries (I am confident that this will be invented, but it’s unlikely to be by me!).

What do you love about working here?

Even though we’re growing we’ve kept an entrepreneurial spirit, with a real focus on making our people happy. We’re still a relatively small company, but we’re a leading player in the life sciences consultancy and outsourcing space, with huge potential for growth. Kinapse is a great company to work for.

What has made you proud in your career?

There’s no one piece of work that I am most proud of in my career.

Rather, I am very proud to have worked for a number of small and mid-sized international groups, helping them to develop and mature. I’m proud of improving their management systems and processes, raising financing for growth, and setting them on the path to success.

Where were you before?

I have more than 25 years of financial management experience, the last dozen years supporting private equity-backed, mid-cap international companies.  I have significant industry expertise in business services, as well as manufacturing and distribution, and solid experience in M&A, reorganizations, financing and investor relations.

A Canadian chartered accountant, I have lived and worked in Canada, the US, UK, France, Belgium and Switzerland. I started my career in the audit practice of PwC (then Coopers & Lybrand), before holding senior finance positions with several multinational groups.

What’s your favourite book?

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Why did you choose to work in the life sciences industry?

Right now, the healthcare industry offers tremendous opportunities for growth and development.

As society puts more and more emphasis on health, safety and environmental concerns, businesses like ours become more and more important.  We play an essential role in advancing good practices in the sector, directly contributing to a better healthcare industry.  That’s an exciting place for any finance executive to be.
